ARCHITECTURE PRIZE NRW

The BDA honoured to the Diözesanbibliothek Münster with the Architecture Award NRW in 2007.

Jury statement:
The new building ensemble consists of three cubes, one of which houses the library. Its shape as a 70-metre long structure is, in the first instance, a striking example of urban planning, particularly as its length corresponds exactly with the administrative buildings on the opposite side of the Rosenstrasse. The location of the building cubes creates interior spaces, such as the alley between the library and the seminary, an inner courtyard and a cloister garden.
