Sägereistrasse

The design proposal is to transform the existing volume into a timeless building with an urban silhouette. A three-storey tower is added as a partial extension to the existing building. The nuanced staggering of heights gives the building a new presence in the urban structure and communicates with the neighbouring tower volume. The new entrance situation is given a special charisma and attraction by the surrounding colonnades. Behind these colonnades, the “crystal” opens up the building as a marketplace for merchants and, with its café and workplaces for mobile work, develops the character of a high-quality and lively lobby. The aim is to construct a building with high-quality materials and flexible use, to minimize CO2 emissions and to offer an ecological and economical solution.
