With its differentiated cubature and height development, the new building has an ordering and calming effect on its environment and becomes an urban hinge between the districts that meet at Rathenauplatz. With a tower, the development turns towards the dense Berlin city center and becomes the accent and prelude at the beginning of Kurfürstendamm. Towards the south-west the building orients itself with a second, lower high point and thus connects to the small-scale, green building structure of the Grunewald district. Typologically, the building picks up on the structure of the Berlin block edge development and transforms it into a multi-layered figure that opens up to the city. The rotation of the two large volumes creates a floor plan that widens up into a public entrée. The light facade develops a finely differentiated three-dimensional structure of pillars of different depths, which gives the building its filigree, transparent appearance. As a striking, sculptural city figure, the new building will shape the new identity of the quarter, which it will enliven in the future with its open office spaces geared towards communication.
