Quartier Hofackerstraße

The new development on Hofackerstraße revitalizes the center of Haunstetten with a diverse mix of commercial spaces, restaurants, medical practices, offices, and residential units. The neighborhood complements and expands the offerings along Hofackerstraße, which is set for revitalization, and creates new urban qualities. A centrally located city garden links the surrounding green areas and forms the green heart of the district. 
The design responds to the heterogeneous surroundings with a clearly structured urban layout: four buildings rise from a shared base that integrates the various uses. A consistent façade design unifies the buildings into a harmonious overall composition.
The publicly accessible city garden offers attractive recreational spaces with green areas, seating, and play zones, becoming the social hub of the new neighborhood. A generously designed forecourt at the corner of Hofackerstraße and Albert-Schweitzer-Straße marks the entrance. From here, stairs leads to the “city balcony” – a walkable, landscaped platform that provides access to the medical and office units. At the southeast corner, the district opens again onto Hofackerstraße, connecting with the planned, revitalized infrastructure. 
The ground floors accommodate restaurants and shops; above them are medical practices and offices, and the upper floors house apartments – a vertical mix that creates a small-scale urban atmosphere. This results in a vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood that combines living, working, shopping, and healthcare in a compact space. Squares, pathways, and buildings form a cohesive structure that encourages interaction and simplifies daily life. Haunstetten is growing from within – with a neighborhood that integrates harmoniously into the existing community.
