School Campus

Between Rue Royale and Boulevard Pachéco, opposite the Colonne du Congrès and in direct proximity to the restored Pechère Garden, a careful revitalisation of Brussels’ city centre is taking place. With four new residential buildings and a new school, Max Dudler is redesigning the entire area.
The school building, as a place of education, has been conceived as a special point of identification. Designed as a courtyard type, the new building offers safe outdoor areas on several levels. The school’s distinctive façade design highlights its special role within the urban fabric. The façade structure follows a horizontal orientation: large vertical elements made of green brick contrast with the light, elongated horizontal exposed-concrete bands that define the floor slabs. 
This school complex extends across eight levels with a total area of 9,000 square metres and accommodates a daycare centre, a primary school, and a secondary school. Below ground, a multi-purpose sports hall with double-height ceilings provides additional space. It is accessible to the public and features an entrance from the adjacent green promenade.
