Furniture Series

As with his architecture, Max Dudler’s furniture designs deliberately follow reductionist principles. Starting with his design for the Schwarzes Café in Frankfurt, whose furniture-like fittings structure the interior itself, Max Dudler has been designing furniture for the spaces he creates since the 1980s.
The chair in the Black Monday series is characterized by a circular seat, whose form is further reflected in the backrest and the legs.
The Hambach series was designed for the interior of the Hambach Castle. A characteristic feature of the chair, which was specially created for larger rooms, is the pleated leather upholstery. The complementary four-legged and single pedestal tables can also be combined with chairs from other series.
The Max Dudler chair focuses entirely on the archetypal form of the chair. Minimal variations allow it to be adapted as an ideal seating option in a variety of situations. The chairs, tables and other furnishing elements – such as shelves and closets – are produced both in series and as custom-made pieces by the Deutsche Werkstätten.
