The high-rise building of Leibniz University Hannover, with its new façade, has been transformed into a building with a timeless architectural look and modern technical equipment, whose sculptural effect makes it a beacon for Hannover University. The tower reveals its hidden potential as a landmark and provides the university with a modern image that radiates far beyond the campus. Its fine structure and high-quality materials provide a connection to the architectural environment and integrate the building into the urban surroundings. A filigree façade, in which glass and metal combine to form a crystalline and light architecture, replaces the previous massiveness of the existing building. The use of enamelled glass in front of the solid balustrades further heightens the clever use of glass. The building’s metallic materials, in bronze tones, reinforce the value of the architecture, ensuring a certain sublimity with its shimmering effect. A sculptural relief unfolds from finely placed horizontal and vertical lines, giving the building an exterior that changes according to the position of the sun and the weather.
