Surrounded by high trees, the two-storey detached house sits on a flat stone base. Clad in anthracite-coloured plaster, the structure is divided by orthogonal cuts, which align the volume with the road and garden and lend the site structure. Haus Thiele’s floorplan is rectangular. The rooms of the house (with the exception of the living room) are nearly identical in size, and are accessible on both floors via a central hall. Large folding doors on the ground floor create a continuum between interior and exterior.
